Music Programs at FPC

Chancel Choir: The adult choir, open to any and all. This group meets on Wednesday evenings from 7:30–8:45 p.m. and is responsible for weekly anthems as well as special music for Christmas and Holy Week.

Exaltation Ringers: An adult handbell ensemble, this 5 octave meets Monday evenings from 6:15–7:30 p.m. and rings in the worship service monthly, September through May.

 

PYF Praise Band & Chorus: for Grades 7-12,this ensemble meets as a part of the Sunday evening PYF (Presbyterian Youth Fellowship) program.  The Praise band utilizes the talents of the youth as instrumentalists (including piano, bass guitar and drums) and as vocalists.

 

Middle School Ministries Handbell Choir: Grades 7–8, this choir meets as a part of the Middle School Ministries Program on Wednesday evenings from 5:00–5:30 p.m.  This handbell ensemble rings in the worship service monthly and ends the spring semester with a beach trip.

 

Logos Choir: Grades 1–6, this choir meets as a part of the Logos Program on Wednesday evenings. Grades 1-2 rehearse from 4:30 - 5:00 p.m. and grades 3-6 from 5:40-6:10 p.m. Each year, the choir prepares a musical for the spring, performed in the fellowship hall for the congregation and then on the road as part of an overnight trip.

This year the musical is "Nic at Night," the story of Nicodemus. Performances are Sunday March 20, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall and Sunday March 27, 2011 during the 10:00 a.m. hour at Waldesian Presbyterian Church in Valdese, NC.
